Emilia combines a background in physical oceanography with a lifelong passion for sailing and marine meteorology. She joined the Marine Weather Intelligence team in August 2023.
Scientific research and development are at the heart of what we do at Marine Weather Intelligence. We turn scientific discoveries into practical tools that benefit maritime professionals, and that work starts with the people on our team.
Meet Emilia
Originally from Poznań, Poland, Emilia joined Marine Weather Intelligence in August 2023. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Oceanography from the University of Gdańsk and a Master’s degree in Climate Physics from Utrecht University, specialising in Physical Oceanography.
She chose to pursue marine meteorology as a way to combine her scientific expertise with her passion for sailing and her ambitions as a forecaster for offshore races.
A sailor since childhood
Emilia first stepped onto an Optimist at the age of seven, near her hometown. She went on to compete as part of the Polish national sailing team, an experience that gave her a deep, intuitive understanding of how weather shapes performance at sea.
Outside of work, she is drawn to diving, life near the ocean, and initiatives supporting healthy ocean ecosystems. Her favourite place in the world: the Hel Peninsula on the Baltic coast of Poland.
We are delighted to have her on the team.
